We have several offices in Central and Southern England and have ambitious plans to expand our business. To support the organisation’s growth, we have created a new opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our Winchester finance team. This role will be a permanent, full-time or part-time (30+ hours per week) position based in Winchester with both hybrid (you can work from home up to 2 days per week if you wish) and flexible working options (flexing your hours on different days to suit your lifestyle).
The Role
This is a brand-new role that has been created to manage the financial reporting, management accounts preparation and day-to-day financial operations of several companies within the Group. Your duties will include, but will not be limited to:
  • Record and post the day-to-day financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts and payments
  • Prepare and file VAT returns
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts and other financial accounts
  • Supporting with budgeting and forecasting
  • Identify, investigate and resolve any account discrepancies
  • Manage the accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices, preparing payments and maintaining supplier records
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis
  • Balance sheet management and reconciliation
  • Produce draft financial statements, including trial balance, profit and loss and balance sheet
  • Identify ways that processes and reporting can be improved and drive these improvements
  • Collaborating with the Finance team on various projects

About You
We would like to hear from you if you have a minimum of 2 years’ UK experience in either practice or industry, are part way through studying towards an ACCA or ACA or, at least AAT qualified, and you also have the following:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivation and pride in meeting targets
  • Strong attention to detail and organisation skills
  • Full driving licence with ability to spend some days at other locations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office especially MS Excel
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast paced team
  • A background in professional services would be ideal but not essential
  • English & Maths GCSE or equivalent
