We have several offices in Central and Southern England and have ambitious plans to expand our business. To support the organisation’s growth, we have created a new opportunity for a Tax Associate/Assistant Manager (Landed Estates & Rural Businesses) to join our growing Private Client Tax team. This is a full-time permanent position that will be based primarily in our Winchester office. It will also offer hybrid working (three days in the office and up to two days working at home) and flexible working options (flexing your hours on different days to suit your lifestyle).
The Role
Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Preparation of complex tax returns for individuals and partnerships, and associated administration to ensure compliance with deadlines
  • Preparation of trust accounts and tax returns, including updating the Trust Registration Service where required
  • Working closely with and providing support to senior staff with tax advisory services and ad-hoc tasks
  • Liaising with clients directly and attending meetings where required
  • Commercial management of the client portfolio ensuring fees are raised promptly after work has been completed
  • Providing assistance to junior members of the team where appropriate
  • Dealing with HMRC correspondence, telephone calls and enquiries

About You
We would like to hear from you if you have a minimum of 3 years UK experience, from either a medium sized or mid-tier firm. You will also have the following:
  • ACA and/or CTA qualified, or study support can be provided towards these qualifications
  • Experience in a private client tax team
  • An eagerness to learn and research complex areas of CGT and IHT
  • Experience with landed estates and agricultural businesses would be an advantage
  • Excellent client relationship management skills
  • Highly commercial approach
