We have several offices in Central and Southern England and have ambitious plans to expand our business. To support the organisation’s growth, we have created a new opportunity for a Trust Tax Assistant Manager/Manager to join our growing Tax team. This is a full-time permanent position that will be based in our Winchester office. It will also offer hybrid (three days in the office and two days working at home) and flexible working options (flexing your hours on different days to suit your lifestyle).
The Role
Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Preparation of the annual tax returns and trust accounts for a complex portfolio of Trust and Estate clients
  • Review of IHT returns on death, periodic charges and exit charges
  • Assist the Partners with advisory work and trust technical queries
  • Ongoing management of the client portfolio including updating the Trust Registration Service
  • Liaising with clients directly and attending Trustee meetings with the lead partner where required
  • Provide support to the senior members of the Trust team as required

About You
We would like to hear from you if you have a minimum of 5 years UK trusts experience, from either a medium sized or mid-tier firm. You will also have the following:
  • Ideally CTA and/or STEP qualified. Study support can be provided towards these qualifications if desired
  • Detailed understanding of the different types of trusts and the tax implications thereof. 
  • Tax return and accounts preparation experience with a wide range of UK trusts
  • Experience with the CCH suite of tax and accounting software would be beneficial
  • Strong client relationship and project management skills 
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written 
  • Exceptional attention to detail 
  • Strong IT skills 
  • A positive, confident and proactive attitude 
  • Ability to prioritise and meet tight timeframes with high quality output 
  • Self-motivated 
  • Enjoy working as part of a growing trust team, 
  • Demonstrate good judgement of risk and be commercially minded
