We have several offices in Central and Southern England and have ambitious plans to expand our business. To support the organisation’s growth, we have created a new opportunity for a US Tax Trainee to join our London (Berkeley Square) US Tax team. This position also includes a comprehensive induction and full funding to pursue professional qualifications.
The Role
  • Coordinating annual client information collection, including requesting and organizing annual tax information for individual clients, following up by phone or email as necessary, and sharing between various teams and outsources when relevant.
  • Monitoring inbox and answering queries and/or forwarding on to technical staff as needed. 
  • Note-taking for client and prospect meetings and coordination of said meetings with the appropriate team meetings.
  • Communicating internally with other teams and stakeholders regarding status of returns and information received.
  • Assisting with improvement of processes across team and between teams.
  • Basic project management, including tracking overall progression of compliance season and ensuring statuses are reflected accurately in internal tracking and statistics.
  • Assisting with the printing, packaging, posting and filing of US Federal and state tax returns.

About You
  • You will have at least 6 months experience of working with clients in an administrative or similar role, including responding to and prioritising direct client communication. Experience in a US Tax Team or similar professional environment is desirable but not a prerequisite.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and client management skills.
  • University degree with 2.1 or higher or 3 good A-Level results (or equivalent).
  • A familiarity and comfort with US clients and US communication styles.
  • Able to produce high quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player.
  • Confident, positive, professional and can-do attitude.
  • Strong IT skills, specifically Excel and able to pick up new IT packages very quickly.
  • Create a positive impression with clients and staff.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A proactive approach.
