We have several offices in Central and Southern England and have ambitious plans to expand our business. To support the organisation’s growth, we have created a new opportunity for an Audit & Accounts Junior to join our Oxford Compliance team. This is a permanent full-time or part-time role with hybrid and flexible working options (flexing your hours on different days to suit your lifestyle), a comprehensive induction and a full study package to pursue professional qualifications. This is a great opportunity for someone who has at least 1 years’ UK audit &/or accounts practice experience. 
The Role
Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Building productive working relationships within Shaw Gibbs and with clients as required.
  • Developing and applying your technical knowledge through on the job training and formal qualifications.
  • Preparing audit working papers for the areas that you are involved, including but not limited to bank, fixed assets, wages and salaries, debtors and creditors.
  • Attending clients stocktakes and reporting findings.
  • Assisting more senior members of staff in other areas of the file.
  • Preparing notes to summarise your findings and recommendations for the senior’s, manager’s and partner’s attention.
  • Posting the audit clients’ trial balances into statutory accounts format and updating disclosures as necessary.
  • Producing financial accounts in accordance with FRS 102 1A and FRS 105 as well as sole trader and partnership accounts.
  • Preparation of working papers/control accounts from incomplete accounting records.
  • Using accounting software to provide accurate reporting for Managers, Partners and clients.
  • Preparing basic corporation tax computations for clients.

About You
We would like to hear from you if you are a quick learner and can tick all of the below: 
  • At least 1 years’ UK audit &/or accounts practice experience.
  • Educated to A-Level (or equivalent standard) or higher e.g. degree.  You must have a minimum of 3 A Levels at grades A, B, B or higher.
  • Strong aptitude for IT, specifically Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proven communication skills, verbal and written.
  • A positive, confident and proactive attitude.
  • Enjoy working as part of a team and self-motivated.
  • Willingness to undertake and succeed in a range of professional studies.
